Working Out Your Daily Food Requirement

For proper nutrition, there is a recommended daily food requirement. Whether you are fat or thin this recommended daily food intake would give you the nutrition you need for health and vitality.

Our food we eat falls into one of four food groups and is based on age and gender. They are:

  1. Vegetables& Fruit

  2. Grain Products

  3. Milk & Milk Products

  4. Meat & Meat products

The four food groups are not of equal importance, they are listed above in order of importance.

If you are overweight the recommended food intake will give you the nutrition you need without overeating.

This video is based on Canada Food Guide, you can use it to work out your food intake for your age and gender.

Pregnant women, children and atheletes have special requirements.
