For the study, the researchers analyzed data from 6 existing studies that had examined the link between hair loss and cardiovascular disease. Three studies tracked men's baldness for 11 years. The other three examined the heart health of men who were balding compared to those with a healthy hairline.

The participants were 40,000 men, middle age to 60.

Result The first three studies showed that men who experienced baldness younger than age 55-60 were 44% more at risk for coronary artery disease.

The second three studies showed all men who experienced baldness were 70% more at risk for heart disease, but those who did so before age 50 were 84% more likely to have some type of heart disease. Researchers also reported it was too preliminary for men to be concerned about the result and that pursuing a healthy lifestyle early in life is better than worrying about the scalp.
